Paul Scholes says the pressure is all on Chelsea ahead of United’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Reds midfield maestro, a veteran of Europe’s leading competition, is also convinced having the second leg at Old Trafford plays into United’s hands – providing Sir Alex Ferguson’s side can steal an away goal at the Bridge.

“I think the pressure’s always on the home team in the first leg,” he told ManUtd.com.

“Hopefully we can capitalise on that and get a decent result. It’s always important to score an away goal, although we didn’t manage it in Marseille.

“I think we’ll go there and try and score some goals. A draw, especially given our recent record at Chelsea, would be a good result. But we’d rather win the game.”

The Reds have not won at Stamford Bridge in 10 visits, but Scholes, who was on the scoresheet the last time United beat Chelsea away in 2002, is confident of success this time around.
