The United players are targeting the perfect end to a great eight days when Bolton Wanderers visit Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

After various trials and tribulations when travelling, the Reds have so far taken full advantage of being back on home turf, with last weekend’s FA Cup win over Arsenal and Tuesday’s Champions League triumph over Marseille. Now the goal is to make further progress on a third front, the Barclays Premier League, by beating Bolton – no easy task, according to Wes Brown.

“I think Bolton will come and have a go,” Wes told ManUtd.com. “They’re in the semi-finals of the FA Cup which is a big boost for them and have been doing well in the league. We all know how Bolton play, they’re a big powerful team and very dangerous in attack. So it’ll be a difficult game.”

Brown admitted the Arsenal result, on the back of defeats at Chelsea and Liverpool, had given the Reds a much-needed fillip. “It was a good win for us and I think it gives us an edge now going in the last part of the season. After a disappointing run of results, it settled everyone down.”

Wes’ team-mate Michael Carrick agreed, telling the website: “It was important to get back to winning ways against Arsenal. And beating one of your main rivals, albeit in a different competition, maybe does give you a boost psychologically. Hopefully our good form will continue against Bolton.”
