Scott Wootton’s loan spell at Peterborough United ended today (Monday) after a discussion between the young Manchester United defender and his temporary boss Darren Ferguson.
Ferguson told the Championship club’s website, theposh.com, “It is a joint decision to be honest. I had a chat with Scott and he felt he wasn’t really playing enough games, so I was happy to let him go back to Old Trafford.”
Wootton started Saturday’s home match against Brighton but was substituted at half-time with Peterborough trailing 1-0. His Reds colleague Ryan Tunnicliffe later set up an equaliser for David Ball with a fine cross, only for Will Buckley’s second goal of the afternoon to win the match for the visitors, 2-1.
While there’s only one Red remaining at Peterborough, there are now two on loan to Hull City. Robbie Brady scored the only goal as Hull secured a vital 1-0 away win over promotion rivals Reading. The Irishman made the decisive move in the 66th minute at the Madejski Stadium, springing
