Hull City’s 1-0 win against Peterborough had plenty of interest from a United perspective as the Tigers won 1-0 to maintain their promotion push.
Ryan Tunnicliffe played the full 90 minutes for Posh with Scott Wootton coming off the bench for the final 17 minutes. Meanwhile, Robbie Brady came on for Hull after 63 minutes and Joshua King watched from the stands ahead of his loan switch to the KC Stadium being finalised.
In the Barclays Premier League, Federico Macheda was thrown on by new QPR boss Mark Hughes towards the end of the 1-0 defeat at Newcastle but was only able to pick up a booking in his short time on the pitch.
Danny Drinkwater was in outstanding form for Barnsley in a fine 2-1 success at Leicester, setting up both of Andy Gray’s goals with inviting crosses. The midfielder was a key figure in securing the three points for Keith Hill’s Tykes after extending his loan until the end of the season.
