Going well for Welbeck

Danny Welbeck is hoping to pick up from where he left off when Manchester United’s campaign resumes after the final international break of 2011.

Based on his season so far, the young England striker is likely to be as busy as anyone as the Reds embark on an uninterrupted run of fixures from November through until the spring of 2012. When he’s been fit, Welbeck’s been involved, scoring four goals in nine starts and netting a fifth goal in one of his three substitute outings.

“Personally it has gone really well, I have played a lot of games and I just want to keep on improving and hopefully score a few more goals,” Welbeck told us.

“Every time I’m on the pitch I’m just going to give it 100 per cent. I’ve seen players leave and I just don’t want to do that. I’m not just a player, I’m a Manc and I’ve been a United fan all my life, so I just want the best for United.

“Our season was going really well until the defeat against City, but after that the win at Everton was massive. Getting the three points there and getting back on track straightaway shows that one defeat is not going to knock us off our stride.”
