Patrice Evra signed off for the summer by helping France beat Poland 1-0 in Gdansk on Thursday night.

The Reds defender played 90 minutes in a game that was settled by an early Tomasz Jodlowiec own goal.

Evra was at the centre of a fiery clash just before half-time when he was badly fouled by Poland midfielder Ludovic Obraniak. Both players were shown the yellow card by Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers.

Shortly after the break, play was stopped when Patrice picked up a knock after Adrian Mierzejewski went in hard on the Reds defender, but he was able to continue and finish the game.

That completes Evra’s football for the season, with the Frenchman now able to enjoy a well-earned break before rejoining his United team-mates in Manchester in early July.
